Hard Drive Guide Sheet
I will try and do an info page for most of our big sellers. Is this something you can work with or should I get my mum or someone else to look over to clean up?
There are in most cases 3 sizes of Hard drives with various connectors for each one.
These are 1.8", 2.5" and 3.5"
Within these sizes you can have the following connectors
- 2.5" IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) or also called PATA (Parallel ATA) this is the old form factor for Laptops and PCs typically 7 years or older
- 2.5" SATA (Serial ATA) is the new connection with in Laptops and PC's this is the same connection whether the Hard drive is a 2.5" or a 3.5" size Hard Drives. So in practise you can now put a 2.5" Laptop SATA Hard drive in to a Normal PC
- 1.8" ZIF Drives Slighty older connection typically used on smaller sub notebooks or early tablets here is a list
